Introduction
This wine training course, the benefits of which will be both
measurable and immediate, has been designed for front of house
staff to enhance their knowledge, skills and customer service
in the highly demanding environment of the hospitality and retail
industry.

Objectives
To create a more sales focused and incentivised staff with broadened
product knowledge and revitalised customer service skills in order
to increase sales and revenue, create customer loyalty and improve
staff morale.
To boost staff confidence and knowledge thereby increasing the
opportunity to up-sell more product.
To give the establishment a USP by creating a reputation as
a destination for great wines and staff who are passionate about
helping you make informed decisions.
Course Outline
General Wine Knowledge
A broad understanding of grapes, regions and labels and how to condense
that information to best make a recommendation to customers.
A Bit of History
Covering what wine is, the origins of wine, where and how wine is
made and the differences between the Old world and New.
Tasting and Food Pairing of Wine
By taking a systematic approach to tasting by using your senses
of sight, smell and taste to evaluate the flavours, tastes and quality
of wine and putting this to practice when pairing it with food.
Selling and Serving Wine
Practicing the appropriate word and body language when selling,
presenting, opening and serving wine.
Investment & Timeline
The training is based on 3 sessions lasting 2 hours each
Recommended group is between 6 - 8 staff members though smaller
and larger groups can be accommodated.
Course fee is set at £70 per person (minimum of 6 people per group)
All participants will receive a framed certificate upon completion
This price includes developing and hosting of a wine tasting
Client to provide in house wines of their choice and a suitable training area
